Carla Gordon puts the E in entertainment. Multi-talented, her titles include nationally
acclaimed singer/songwriter, director, producer, and parodist extraordinaire. Cabaret is
her love and her passion, in fact she holds the Gold Coast award, Chicago Cabaret
Professional’s highest honor. Howard Reich of the Chicago Tribune states Carla is a
“Major player in Chicago Cabaret.”

There is so much more to Carla, in 2024 she won the American Songwriter Association
“Songsgiving Contest” Lyrics award for her touching song “Thanks to Those Who
Serve”. She has written parodies that include “I’ll Miss Fields for Christmas”, which
includes the line, “Kiss my Frango mints” And, ideal for our time, “Alternative Facts”
Carla spins that she” has more Oscars than Miss Streep.” Cabaret Scenes magazine
named her “A honey voiced wisecracker.” She has performed her original songs across
the country in venues like the Palace in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, to the Metropolitan Room in
NYC, and her songs have aired on WFMT’s Midnight Special.

Carla has directed numerous showcases including Tin Pan Alley, Stud’s Place, and The
Envelope Please, Academy Award Winning songs to name a few. As a composer and
playwright, she has created original works, namely Blacklisted – Songs McCarthy Didn’t
want us to Hear which draws SRO crowds; Borscht Belt Buddies celebrates a special
era in live entertainment and was all the rage in the Catskills. Carla and her partner
bring it to life. In addition, original shows of Carla portraying other legends like Bea
Arthur and Sophie Tucker have received critical acclaim.

Carla is board President of Chicago Cabaret Professionals, and on the board of Arts
Judaica, and the American Songbook Association. She supports not-for-profit
organizations that bring music to children and adults who would not otherwise be
exposed to live entertainment. In addition, she is a generous donor to programs that
support music education and performance.

Her special magic is connecting with the audience, one moment making them laugh, in
the next moving them to tears. Carla has brought her performances and shows to
theaters, churches, synagogues and senior homes around Chicagoland and nationally.
